“My School Is Not For Rich Kids, Kindly Leave It For The Needy” — Michael Blackson.
Jafari Ferguson commonly known as Michael Blackson, is a renowned Ghanaian American comedian popularly referred to as the 'African king of comedy'. He rose to popularity following his remarkable comedy specials and performances that has made him one of the best-known African standup comedians in Hollywood.
Ghanaian-Liberian actor, philanthropist and comedian based in the United States. Micheal Blackson own a school in Ghana and has stated emphatically that his school is for the needy in the community where the school is located and not for the children from rich homes. Which means, his school was built to support parents who do not have money in Ghana.
The actor re-emphasized his intentions of building the school at Agona Nsaba - a village in the central region of Ghana. The name of the school is Michael Blackson Academy. He promised to build a free education school for the children of Agona Nsaba and he has successfully delivered it.

According to him, he built the school to help brilliant students who can not pay school fees to also have the opportunity to study and become great person's in the community.
From the post he has been informed that parents who can afford to pay school fees for their wards to attend other private schools are competing with the intended beneficiaries which he is not happy about it. He has therefore humbly told these parents to make room for the needy students.
Michael Blackson Academy which was formally opened on January 2023, was his dream and has come to pass for the actor (Michael Blackson) who conceived this dream when he first visited his homeland Ghana after 15 years of being away.
He initially began working on the school project in 2020 and provided an update of the school on December 2021 prior to its spectacular opening this year. Blackson who starred in Eddie Murphy’s iconic Coming to America 2 movie opened up to the media that the school “is a legacy, my legacy that I’m leaving for future generations to draw inspiration from. Just maybe if we have more of it, Africa can be of a better standard.”
